Few questions please

Post by compobongo » Sun Apr 29, 2007 8:30 pm

Just been away for 1st weekend in Freda and absolutely loved it. - had many admiring looks from members of the public enquiring 'is that one of those mazda bongos'! - this really speaks for itself!!

Just a few questions that I would really appreciate answers to, so all help most welcome thanks :?

1. Air-con. Makes no difference to cooling (not ice cold at mo) temperature whether on or off. Is there a cheap solution to this or shall I just sweat the summer out?

2. I notice a few bits missing on the trim - is there anywhere that could help me? I am after a drivers seat, fuse box cover and plastc cover under steering wheel above foot well and new front cigarette lighter socket fixing.

3. Can anyone advise on window tinting? where to buy or get done? as I saw a few bongos in Cornwall this w/e and decided I like it. I have seen some DIY kits on the net - are these any good?

4. I have 2 batteries in front of vehicle. Is one of these a leisure battery of are they both for staring the engine?

5. There is no record that my vehicle has had cam-belt done. It has done 67K miles. I really should get this done and a service - any advice please?

6. I am also after a new/refurb set of alloys if anyone could help

If I could get these few questions answered I will be a very happy compobongo!!

Thanks all
pippin

Well compobongo, the answers to most of your questions are already here in the forum, just waiting for you to find them by means of the search facility.
Read the tutorial first, as it is not exactly user-friendly.

"I am after a drivers seat"
You require a drivers seat? Blimey, how did it get through SVA/MOT without one!!!

I suspect that your aircon system needs re-gassing. Remember that it does not work if the fan is not on at least Nr1.
Does the rear aircon work? The switch by the driver's knee needs to be on for it to do so, as well as the front fan.

Two engine batteries are the winter option for very cold areas of Japan.
Look for non-original wiring going to the battery on the passenger side.
If it is original it has not been converted for secondary battery use.

There is a thread on window tinting running now.

1 At Uphill wsm there is a garage on the bridgewater road that will service your aircon for around £50-£60 (cant remember which) not sure if that price compares

2 There are a few places that Break bongos so you may be in luck There are ads on this site

3 No Idea sorry Mine came with them already done but there are many places that will do it

4 With out looking its impossible to tell, take a digi photo and post it some one will recognise the set up or maybe some one can explain how to tell the diference

5 there is a list of bongo friendly garages in the members area 1 is in bath but there are others that will do the job I had mine serviced in WSM

6 So am I
