ok............right, i take you plan on covering your locks with these?, personally i think the will look a right mess.

and anyone seeing them will just pop them off with a screw driver and have a go at ya lock again  not really going to discourage a theif from trying to break in.

if you was going to blank off your locks, why not just take the lock out totally stick a plate over the hole in the door, from the inside and put some body filler over the outside and smooth it off, spray it and bobs your uncle.

de locked and no hole for a screw driver to fit under

ehhh.......I think thats what I said

only dif is that I intend to cover the holes with the badges (so when I eventually sell it I can return it to normal)

so a stick on badge over the lock will deter a theif trying to break into the bongo??

he is going to do more damage, firstly he will stick his screw driver under the badge to pop it off, damageing the paint workthen his going to stick the screw driver under the lock barrel as well.

I think what Gozzy is planning on doing is to remove the locks and fit blanks on the inside and then use the stick on badges to cover it afterwards. He is doing this instead of filling and painting so that he can replace the lock should the time come to sell the Bongo.

Hope I've got that right???

doh just read his first post again  . get ya gozzy

but i still think it will look a bit naff  , and it will not deter a theif, he will see them badges(probably the same theif) and stick his screw driver under it just to see whats underneath and gouge the paint.

also it will be like saying everyone look at me i got some badges covering the locks, their must be sumat expensive in this bongo

As Waycar suggests Gozzy, there isn't an easy effective solution to de-locking with a bongo/freda. I have delocked both my cars, but the bongo's seperate lock from the doorhandle doesn't lend itself to an easy or cheap solution.

The locks need to be completely removed, after fitting remote central locking . You will then be left with three holes in the doors ( not including the tailgate) Then a small circle (approx 1mm smaller than the hole ) of sheet steel should be held flat against the door panel ( via a flat magnet from the back ) Then the circle should be tack welded on. A seam weld would distort the door panel. The tacks of weld should be applied to the circle in the same manner as a cylinder head bolts get torqued. i.e. not next to each other straight away, allowing each tack to cool slightly before another tack is applied.

The tacks should eventually become a seam weld of sorts when they are all joined up, then the weld can be ground flush to the disc, and the door if the disc was held absolutely flat when tacking. then a quick skim of filler, followed by sanding, then priming, followed by a "blow in" by a paintshop.
