Hi - my laptops crashed on which I keep all my Bongo related favourite links. Could some kind soul please post the link to the site with the EPC translations please (the diagrams and part numbers). I'm after one of the hoses that go to the turbo. I've picked up a previous thread which shows two part numbers - 13-551 and 13-539A but am unsure as to which one I need. I'm after the big one that goes from the turbo and down to a steel pipe by the chassis. It's roughly S shaped. A diagram would clinch it.

Yes it was the first one. Many thanks for that Glyn you're a star. Funny I can't find part number 13-551 but have eliminated 13-539A so I guess it is 13-551 that I need.

Just looked at that diagram again and found the part number. Trouble is it isn't the pipe I'm looking for. In fact I'm now concerned that the pipe I'm looking at is in fact a coolant pipe at all. It shouldn't be that big for cooling the turbo. Maybe I should take a pic and post it.

BTW - Ian points out that the part numbers on my version of the parts list are for Bongos up to Nov 97 only. I would check the Ruissian site for any final confirmation.

Maybe you're looking at the air pipe from the turbo to the intercooler which is down below the radiator

This is the pipe I'm talking about. Are you saying this is air intake? Makes sense but looks exactly like a swelled coolant pipe.

No I think DandyWarhol was correct with saying it is the air feed from the intercooler. If you look at the Intercooler page and part 13-245 that matches. Damn funny looking air intake tube though, looks just like a swollen hosepipe and fastened with jubille clips as per coolant hoses. Ah well save me the cost of a new one. It's sound enough and if only passing air it can stay swollen ........

Yup, that looks like the one. I imagine it has weakened over the years due to the high temperatures around the turbo.

Yes but unlike a coolant hose that goes "squishy" over time, this is rock hard which is more like you would want for an air inlet (metal would probably been more suitable). It's a bit off-putting to look at but unless it fractures it should be fine. If it ain't broke ..........

having stripped and removed the turbo on mine i can say that yes it is the pipe to the intercooler

Yes the message board doesn't like brackets in links. There is a way to fix it, but it is kind-of tedious.
