Well dreamwarrior beat me to it. What a bl**dy fantastic day. Thanks+++++ to Walter (with Harry in the co-pilots seat) for putting this one together. Having met the Bongo tribe, I can take a lot more of this

Thanks to Bigdaddy for stuff to mend my bumper with. It included wet n dry and a scouring pad. To make best use of space, I put them in the Potta Potti for transport. Then I thought better of it - one of the kids might think the scouring pad for for 'finishing the job off' when using a camping toilet. And I dont carry a First Aid kit.

Thanks to Dreamwarrior for the fantastic kite flying. My son Will and his mate Jack and other kids were entertained for hours while he threatened to annihilate them by flying his 'small' kite (yea right) straight at them and zooming it into a climb at the very last moment. Unfortunately, he didn't manage to hit them once (or did he - I was too busy being a camping house-dad to watch it all).

Thanks too to Daveblueozzie who used his superb knowledge of advanced IT to fix my DVD player which wouldnt release a disc from its drive. While I wasn't looking, he gave it a smart tap on the back and it burped out the DVD and went back to behaving normally. There was nothing about that in the troubleshooting section of the users manual.

Thanks (if thats the right word :? ) to Peter Humphrey for bamboozling me into playing my guitar after a layoff of 9 months in front a crowd expectant strangers.

Gentlemen, the Hop for today is Hop 9, and expectation is high

And thanks to Mrs You've Been Bongoed for appearing with a sticking plaster for Wills finger when she heard me say I hadnt got one and he'd have to hold some loo paper over it. Difference between mums and dads eh

And finally, thanks to The Roosters, who started their set at 4.00am, with Chuck Rooster doing the duck walk down the line of Bongos just to wake everyone up and make sure they didnt oversleep. No-one was expecting a large and noisy cock to jump them at that time of night.

If you are a visitor to BF and wondering if you really want to get that involved with it all, then I understand. I'm the same. So are many who were there. They just wanted to join a club that helped them with teh day to day problems of owning a Bongo. But I tell you, we had the best time in this beautiful field in the middle of nowhere (no offence to Wirral folk  ) and you will too if you become a BF member and decide to come along to their meets. Granted, we are all slightly eccentric, but then would you rather be like Gordon Brown
