REAR WIPER INTERMITTENT ACTION
I have just fitted a rear wiper intermittant action circuit.
It is based on a Velleman K2599 kit. (Available Maplins, CPC etc).
It is not installed as Velleman intended, on the dash with a rotary switch to select OFF and 5sec, 10sec, 15sec delays.
I installed it onto the motor in the tailgate and it has a fixed 15sec delay.
It involved very little cutting/joining of wires.
When I can figure out how to draw electrical circuits on here I will post more detail.
It would take no more than an hour to fit now that I have figured out how to do it.
Just praying for rain now so that I can give it a whirl!

Hi Pippin
I see you've got around to doing yours - I haven't as yet.
I have the same kit (as you probably know) and was going to take the same approach. My one reservation was that the rear wiper would always be on delay, even on wash/wipe. Have you found that to be a problem or have you cunningly got around the issue?

Not a problem so far, although we have yet to experience rain.
When washing the rear window with the biased switch just keep releasing/turning the switch and it will do enough wipes.
I did not fit the switch as it is not accessible in the tailgate anyway.
It also makes the module too big.
I fitted two links on the pcb to mimic the switch for the longest time delay.
From memory:
Remove the wiper arm assembly.
Remove rear tailgate internal trim panel.
Unplug the wiper cables.
Undo three captive bolts and remove the entire assembly.
Cut off the protective sleeving from the plug to the motor and motor park switch.
Break into the ignition on always live wire (solid blue, but check with a meter first!) and connect it to the pcb +12V terminal.
The other wire is an earth connection that is made via the wiper stalk.
Cut this other wire (Blue/white but I might have the colours reversed!).
Connect the motor side to relay terminal A on the pcb and also to the 0V input terminal of the pcb.
Connect the end that goes to the plug/socket to relay terminal C.
I stuck sticky pads on the relay cases and stuck the pcb onto the actual motor. Then a cable tie around for security. There is plenty of room for it.

I followed a similar procedure, and it works a treat. I have set the delay to 10 secs.
The only difference with mine is that it's a new shape (2000) so access to the wiper motor is simply by taking off the tailgate panel. I "potted" the delay module in self-amalgamating tape and taped it into the tailgate before re-fitting the panel
