Bongo Jack

I had to jack up my rear end at the weekend to repair the rear box on the exhaust, a little bit of tube, flexible hose and a welder saved me £62.00.

It was the first time I had to use the jack and I do not think it is the coorect jack. It is a scissor jack but even when it is fully wound up it is not quite enough to lift the back wheel off the deck. I located the jack at the rear of the cill on a nice hefty looking flat part of the chassis. I had to put a piece of wood under my jack to get it high enough to remove the wheel.

Can anyone describe or put a photo up of the official Bongo Jack, then if mine is wrong I can start looking for one or at least carry a lump of wood with me just in case.

Oooooooooooooh, it just shows how strong the chasis is.

As you say, page 163 of the owners handbook explains all.

I looked long and hard at the mounting points of the trailing arm but thought no idiot would jack up on that point as it will damage the rubber bush - just shows how you have to think differently with these machines. Will just try my jack up to the official jacking points and see if it works OK just for my own satisfaction, I am sure it will.
