There's currently one in Aldi for £70 with a proper tank and a small paint sprayer (Air brush I think it's called - the sprayer not the compressor).

Whilst I have no spraying experience I do have a similar compressor from B&Q that I bought a few years ago with a nail gun. It is fine for that, but you will need something with a 50lt tank and 2hp motor and 7-8 cfm for any type of spraying or indeed normal air tools.
I also bought a 'palm nailer' which I use with the compressor, but it is virtually running permanently to supply enough air- this would not be much good with a spray gun (although I accept you will not be seeking a showroom finish

i've got a spray gun which i normally use for doing the garden fencing which is ideal for spraying underneath the Bongo, but it's no good to use to get inside the Chassis etc as you can't addapt it with a small hose to suit .Thats why i am thinking of buying a Commpressor just for doing the Chassis etc. What do you think. Thanks again. Andy

Wuss :D

It's really not a messy a job if you're using a compressor and not having to thin the waxoyl - it sticks like glue... I'd just done inside the panels here:

And you can spend the £300 quid you save on something else, like a wind out awning...

Course if you can afford it, get someone else to do it! :D

For those wondering, the Fiamma is on modified AVA leisure brackets.

I know - only kidding. Just a bit nervous about getting waxoyl on things like upholstery, the drive, my angry wife etc. + all the business of pulling panles off (and breaking clips due ot inexperience etc.). Also, people were saying on BF that they could get waxoyling done for around £100. The £380 job I had done at Chassis Clean involved work and a quality of treatment I wouldnt begin to be able to match so I didnt even consider it.

Good luck AndAndDen

Same colour as mine, Will - Black rules, OK?

Are you intending to insulate the sides whilst you have all those panels off?
I had thought about insulation under those panels - and imagine the glue would also stop any rusting - wot u fink?

Oh, and why are your roof handles on upside down?

You're right Mike - unless you've got the gear its a hard job; I'm lucky to have an understanding Father with lots of tools I can pinch :D

As for insulation, I didn't bother; erberspachers are powerful enough to keep the van warm whatever the weather. Plus most of my conversion is now fitted 8) I'll have to post some pics on the weekend... it's fantastic even if I do say so myself!

Roof handles :? which do you mean?

Black ones are faster...
