Are you sure you need a new engine :?: Loooking at your previous postings it appears you have had problems with overheating. Are you sure you dont just need a new head

North of England is a large area. Where are you based?

I'm based in Leeds.
I have had loads of problems with overheating, changed cracked header tank, waterpump(which had broken vanes), radiator, thermostat, flushed out and bled several times. It now is blowing white smoke and hydraulicing when starting, also blowing smoke out of header tank.
I've spoke to my local bongo friendly garage who has done 2 heads on similar faults which didnt cure the problem and then ended up changing the engines to cure it.
I am fed up with messing about so I've decided to bite the bullit and go for a new engine. I've had a quote or £1400 inc fitting so it doesnt seem worth taking a chance on the head curing it.

I would go down the engine replacement route, our mechanic would not fit a new head to old engine block.

I would agree with the rest - just watch out you don't get a Mazda B2500 pickup of Ford Ranger engine - they look identical but have about 25% less power......they even have the same WL engine code prefix

I don't know where the differences are but I'd suspect in the camshaft/turbo spec.........

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I managed to get an engine from midland specialist cars. Running great and I'm starting to enjoy the bongo again :D .
Still keeping a close eye on the temperature guage though

with the estimas it works the opposite, fitting a second hand engine without knowing the history is like fitting a second hand head to an engine known for head failer, and is not recomended, even though you can get a replacement engine supplied and fitted for £600 less than having the head replaced properly. :?
