Quick question regarding replacement ABS sensor

Post by ragingben » Wed Mar 04, 2026 10:55 am

Hi all, hopefully a quick question regarding the front left ABS sensor.

My ABS light is on, I've checked diagnostics and the code indicates the front left sensor is at fault. Ideally I don't want to shell out £280 for a new sensor for a Bongo that is realistically nearing the end of its life, but I found these after market sensors on eBay that look reasonable and are £60:

I have a 2l 2002 Bongo Friendee, the seller says the part is incorrect but I think it is correct, is anyone able to advise? Also, any experience with these replacement sensors would be welcome, particularly regarding the quality.

Regards,

Ben

Yes that is visually correct, they come in all sorts of prices, the actual sensors are common it seems so you can actually get even cheaper variations normally with a different plug that can be adapted! Be aware however it often requires the fixing bolt for the sensor to be drilled out as they get corroded in position after all these years!
