Cooked ECU

Post by Wozbongo » Tue Dec 02, 2025 4:36 am

Hi, thanks for having me in the group. I have a 1995 AWD 2.5 TD I also have a cooked BM310 ECU in it. I didn't cook it. It came pre cooked you could say. I'd like to know what circuit cooked it and I know some great work was done back in 2010 to map these. I am wondering if someone could please point me to the circuit diagrams for these so I can get some clues from it? I dont really want to stick another ECU in there and watch it fry before my very eyes. Many thanks. Anyone who has one in good nic and would like to sell it to me please let me know.

Hi, and welcome aboard.

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid, and I've never heard of the ECU on a Bongo being mapped, but not saying it hasn’t been done, and I wonder if that’s the cause of the problem.

Bongo Spares, near Sowerby Bridge, are a good source of used parts, and hopefully someone will be able to help.

The diagrams for the ECU's were never completed, the boards became multi-layer and there were lots of versions released with no documentation as to changes available :-( The general wiring diagrams are still available in Flash format and there are still browsers available which will display them see another thread for details viewtopic.php?t=36657
The design of the ECU does not allow mapping they are fixed parameters and the details are stored in RAM which is why there is a unswitched backup supply to the board in order to retail the parameters.
