Blobber

Post by Bongoplod » Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:24 pm

There has been a post on Facebook from Alan Bamford's son.
Older members may know that Alan's forum name ON BongoFury was 'BLOBBER'.
I'm sad to inform those who knew Alan (or Blobber) that he passed away peacefully in his sleep last night.
Those who remember him will agree he was a lovely bloke and, when he was a Bongo owner,he was a regular contributor on here.
Unfortunately funeral details are not yet known but I will post them if they come available.
R.I.P. my friend, and deepest condolences to family and friends.

Happy memories of being with Alan and Dot at the Bongo Bash and elsewhere. A lovely couple, and Blobber was one of the great originals on here. I last saw him a few years ago when he dropped at the house over for something Bongo (can't remember what - age!). We talked about scooters as we'd both been into them in our youth and he had got back into it and was driving (I think) a restored Lambretta. RIP Alan and I hope you are reunited with Dot, who I know you missed terribly. Mike & Trish x

Hi
It has just come on FB, from Alan’s (Blobber) son.
His funeral is on September 20th at 2.00, at Birches Crematorium.
