Slow water leak / wet driver-side footwell

Post by BobbyBongo » Fri Aug 16, 2024 8:04 am

Hello, we’re in summer hols in France , head back home this weekend about 800 miles to do .
Our water levels dropped on the way down here significantly , I’ve been keeping it topped up but there is some sort of slow leak . I’ve just noticed it’s quite wet under the floor mat on driver side too.

I was wondering if anyone could help diagnose this problem.. ? And if there’s any temporary fix I could do before getting it to a garage when home .
Thanks 🙏

Its often been found to be a front heater matrix leaking into the air box and then out to the drivers side see these search results https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=wet+d ... azda+bongo
Getting to the front heater matrix is covered here but it can be quite fiddly and you will need a new one to replace it;

To get you home could he disconnect those two rubber pipes and join together with a plumbing fitting/tube and jubilee clips though Geoff, he'd still have AC in the rear or heat if needed though I doubt it at this time of year. H
