Snapped Bolt - What part of the Engine is this

Post by Bongocaravan » Fri Jun 23, 2023 7:26 pm

Hello , I noticed a leak from a bolt today whilst under my Bongo and thought I would nip it up to stop the leak . Snap !! The bolt sheared off .

I think I am going to have to drill it out and helicoil it .

Can some one tell be what the bolt is attached to ? It looks like oil

Here is a photo . Thank you for your help

Is it the bottom of a fuel injector pump ? I am wondering wether the bolt I snapped is on the pipe that delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel injector pump ?

Thank you Bob . Hopefully someone will know . I might undo the other bolt that is not snapped and see if Diesel drips out . I pulled a muscle when I was under my van last week so it will have to wait until the weekend anyway.

Thank you for responding

Just undid the other bolt and oil gushed and drained my power steering Resevoir , so I now know what the pipe leads into :)

What diameter are those bolts? They're marked 7 and I'm pretty sure ones on my bike with that number can only be torqued to 11nm which is only really nipped up if you don't have a good torque wrench. H
