Hi,
I bought a 90A alternator from
https://www.startermotor-alternator-sto ... 2681-p.asp for my 2000 2.5 diesel and while it seems to have the same mount positions on first glance, the box has a code for an 80Amp alternator from plusline parts.
I called the store and they said that the boxes had been mislabelled and labels should have been removed. They said it is the correct alternator.
Has anyone fitted one of these alternators and have any feedback on it?
The other option is to get a recon alternator for twice the price but speaking to an online bongo parts company, you get whatever alternator comes off a breaking van.
Thanks
Tom

Others have used them. A search for alternator +company will find more.

Re: Alternator Amp rating
Does the alternator not have a Make/Model/Part number stamped on it ? Then it could be looked up to see what the rating is.

Re: Alternator Amp rating
There was nothing on the alternator to identify. There was only the code on the box that referred to an 80A alternator.
I have fitted it and everything seems to be running well so far.
