Mold in roofspace

Post by N69FKU » Sat Feb 24, 2007 9:23 pm

Any wonder solutions for removing mold or avoiding it in the first place, would be much appreciated. Any more scrubbing and I will be through to the outside.

Hmmm - can't see why you got it in the first place, unless your roof was wet when lowered (and never raised again to dry it off), or you've got a leaking seal.
I know a weak bleach solution can work but I don't know how keen I'd be to try it on the canvas of the roof - could be an expensive mistake.
Have you tried the camping shops or boat chandlers?

Thank You.

I'll leave you a good tip in exchange:

Always keep a roll of insulation tape handy in your Bongo or when on holiday, it has many uses, one being sealing leaky bottle tops.

Do we have general tips page?

Never wipe your arse with a broken bottle.

The inference being you could wipe your arse on a unbroken bottle? Nah, that's too smooth. Better to use a dead hedgehog ..........

nice hobbies dandy

"Dettol Mould & Mildew Remover" works well, use window cleaner to neutralize the bleach or it will stink forever.

best still hire a steam cleaner and clean it.

ours went grotty due to keeping the window silver screens up there which sweated.
