Cracked windscreen

Post by bluefirs » Thu Mar 24, 2022 4:09 pm

I have a cracked windsceen on my P-reg Bongo
My insurers gave me a 0800 number to ring (Autoglass?)
They told me it would cost £496 over and above my insurance glass limit of £600
ie a total of well over a thousand pounds
What can I tell them that might get the total price below £600, so that I would need to pay the £75 excess

Maybe try a different company ? https://www.nationalwindscreens.co.uk/ did mine for the standard excess of £75 back a year or so ago.

Thanks
Assuming my windscreen is the original - am I right in thinking that it has a green tint ( not blue or bronze)?

Stick a piece of white paper outside and view it thru the glass from the inside is best.
