Re: Overheating??
Yep!
Re: Overheating??
Like I said, all looks pretty different to me. Mine is a 2001 2.5 Diesel engine, what engine is the installation photo taken from. For whatever reason, although in the same area, my engine isn’t the same? Wonder if my readings are hotter because of this? Somebody shedding some light on this would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t know what’s going on....the 2 x photos you posted (side by side) are not of the same area.Stevievee wrote: Tue May 18, 2021 8:25 am Same view... Straight through that hatch on previous photo... I am now really confused!! I'm even starting to doubt I actually own a Mazda Bongo!!![]()
Re: Overheating??
For reference, I'm pretty sure that's the same bleep pipe on both photos?

Yip, you have the sensor in the correct place, the back of the head

Re: Overheating??
Thought it must have been! Thinking I was going mad. Sort of wish it had been in the wrong place, at least that would give me a reason why it’s running so hot!rita wrote: Tue May 18, 2021 11:24 am

Re: Overheating??
Watching this thread to see what happens in the end.
Hopefully it's nothing serious. I still wonder if it might just be something like ambient temperature being higher.

It's in the garage tomorrow morning, firstly to try eradicate my own paranoia and check everything, before making any rash decisions and fixing something that ain't broke! I'm pretty sure nothing has changed, except buying that bloody temp alarm!!oibaf wrote: Wed May 19, 2021 10:54 am Watching this thread to see what happens in the end.

Re: Overheating??
The temp gauge could be letting you know your system is due a overhaul, if you didn’t have it you could be driving in ignorance thinking all is well until it all goes to rat shit !

I'm not having a pop at the temp alarm, just how it's set off my paranoia!haydn callow wrote: Wed May 19, 2021 2:03 pm The temp gauge could be letting you know your system is due a overhaul, if you didn’t have it you could be driving in ignorance thinking all is well until it all goes to rat shit !
Getting it checked tomorrow, but as he is not a Bongo 'specialist' I'd rather he didn't drain and bleed the system to be honest. Booked in at Bongo Spares on 22nd June (earliest they could get me in) for a system overhaul and coolant change. Let's hope they do it before it 'all goes to rat shit'!

They are going to be busy as that's nearly the bongo bash date, they usually attend.
That pipe you marked earlier was the snorkel pipe fr the gearbox, it helps the gearbox breathe when it gets hot / cold and keeps the water out when it gets a bit deep.
