Mattress for downstairs

I've had a search but couldn't find any obvious posts, please do signpost me to one if I've missed one.

I have a 1996 petrol V6, Pete the guy I bought it from did a neat little conversion. The back seats are still in and then there's two benches with a table behind and then finally a kitchen unit at the back. So the bed is made up of those benches with the table top and then the three middle seats folded flat. So it is a full width bed. It gives a fair bit of space but lots of lumps and bumps.

My question is what can I use to make the whole thing more comfy. I remember reading about Ikea mattress toppers but the ones I've seen, seem quite thin. It goes without saying I would like whatever solution to take up minimal space when stored away.

I have seen these kind of things, anyone used one?

This looks like it might have more potential and because it can fold, I wonder if it might be able to be stored in the AFT roof

Unfortunately the last one is over 3” thick so I don't think it would store upstairs.

Also, it would be a fight to persuade it through the hatch.

Have you considered a self inflating mattress. I have one and it works great and stores away well.

I found one at home off a single fold out bed.

It's only about 3" thick but that's enough to smooth everything out and since you are already on seats it's nice and comfortable

Aldi and Lidl often get the inflatable mattresses in. Lots of Bongo owners have bought them over the years. Just check the dimensions of any before you buy.

I found an old lidl blow up mattress and it fits perfectly!
