Oil leak

Post by Stevievee » Sat Mar 13, 2021 2:59 pm

Just checking the engine under driver's seat today. I was actually trying to find a loose air intake pipe due to lack of power up hill that I'd seen on another thread (I couldn't even find said pipe, but hey ho!!).
Anyway, there seems to be quite a bit of oil (photos attached) oil levels have always been fine and not needed topping up. Should I be concerned?

Thanks

After googling it, I am worried it could be the head gasket now! Would there be other symptoms though? I literally know nothing about the mechanics of an engine, so apologise in advance for my naivety!!

I'd say it's unlikely to be the head gasket, you likely would have far more serious symptoms.

A lot of Bongos weep a tiny bit of oil, which looks worse than it is. Mine included.

If you're not having to top up regularly I would't worry, maybe just get the garage to check at the next service.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.
