Incorrect mileage reading

Although the mph reads ok the mileage completed is reading higher than actual.

Often the scale is changed so that what was Km/H becomes with a new scale MpH, however the odometer itself isn't altered so it keeps on reading Km which is 0.62 of a mile or 1 mile is 1.6 Km.

Yep, perfectly normal, and legal.

You may wish your MoT garage to record total distance as kms, or just explain it to potential buyers.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.
