Another abs fault 😢😢 please help
Hi I’ve got 2.0 petrol bongo with an abs fault, the light doesn’t go out at all, it’s a 1997. I’ve tried the led tester and I just get one solid flash and that’s it which indicates there is no codes stored ? I’m wondering if there is a relay for the abs? I can’t find any info anywhere regarding relays. If someone could help it would be great. Thanks
Re: Another abs fault 😢😢 please help
Not sure that the system gives a single flash as such if its a 1997 vehicle it will be the 2-digit codes if present.
There isn't any relay as such involved with the ABS other than those within the control box but not accessible to Users fingers!

Thank you I will get a further look at it today to try and source the problem. I will try reading the code again

Do remember the diagnostic box is mounted rotated 180 degrees from the diagrams!

Re: Another abs fault 😢😢 please help
I was doing it wrong doh!! I was getting engine management codes not abs. Soooo... codes 11 and 12. Front left and front right abs sensors. I think it’s funny why 2 are showing, could possibly be wiring or something? Thanks
Re: Another abs fault 😢😢 please help
The cables hang down a little from the bearings before being tied up to the chassis, maybe something could have caught them ?
I had problems with the ABS in April 2019 down in Cornwall, it was quite cool and damp in the mornings and I would get a warning up, however by the time I had driven to my location about 20-30 minutes and restarted all was fine, it did this each morning I was down there. I didn't have access at the time to a ramp or anything, but by the time I got back all was fine and not occurred since - at a guess I reckon maybe moisture was being drawn into the connectors overnight, causing the problem in the morning but it would evaporate once warmed up. Possibly just pulling the connectors apart and a dose of WD40 and inspection of the pins might be the cure if your lucky ? The cost of replacements is not nice

Thanks for your reply. I hooked a multimeter to the pins and don’t get any voltage when wheel is spinning And also resistance is 0. so looking like New sensors, question is they can’t be that price surely?! £200 for 1 abs sensor is extortionate. Maybe be breaking a bongo soon...
