Key fob battery/engine light

I changed the battery in my key fob and now it doesn't work and I have the orange engine light on any ideas

Why did you change the battery in the fob ? It won't have affected anything in the vehicle itself, but on the otherhand something wrong in the vehicle might be stopping the door opening ....

It stopped working, the key still opens all the doors and works the ignition
