Alternater packed up Monday so I popped on the spare from the shed, easy enough, and searching on here pulled up an old thread which sort of fizzeled out.
Does anyone know if it's practical to refurb one, maybe brushes/diodes, or are we looking at an excange unit?
Not least, as Kirsty said, it could be really hand to carry a repair kit rather than a bloomin' great alternator on a long trip.
