Mystery wiring and plastic

Post by Bonneville » Sun Aug 26, 2018 11:21 am

Here's a conundrum for a washed out bank holiday. I have a pair of cut off 2-core wires exiting under the carpet at rear. In each pair of wires, one is co-ax. Here's one side:

Note the depressions in the tailgate rubber seal showing that the cables went straight under the tailgate. Here's the pair:

So, any ideas as to what they were for? I was thinking reversing camera but why 2? And who would cable straight across the top of a bumper?

While you're here, can anyone identify this piece of plastic (found in a front door bin but I can't remember removing it):

Its not standard wiring, but most likely would be twin screened for audio wiring for something that was added and now removed in the past, possibly external speakers out the back door maybe? Could be anything, like most added wiring best to remove it all as you have no idea if its connected to a battery, probably not fused as well!

The piece of plastic is a bit of trim from the middle row seats. Mines falls out all the time too.
