Split rear seat.

Post by Robbedabongo » Fri Aug 24, 2018 10:26 pm

Hi,I have a rear facing split rear seat which is fitted behind the driver/passenger seats.
I would like to create more space by removing the smaller rear folding section of the seat, as it is never used.
Is this possible or has anyone ever done this?
Cheers.

Hi unfortunately you would have to remove the entire bench structure as the bottom has legs to the runners, on both sides of the bench, but isuppose you could take a chainsaw or a really sharp knive and cut it out, but you would still be left with the runner issue :roll: :lol:

I'm sure it could be done. It might be complicated as the folding section you refer to is linked to the mechanism that depresses tongues into the runners allowing the seat to move forward and backwards

Thanks for the replies;
I did have a look at the seat, removed the two plastic end covers and I don`t think that it can be done. Unless I butcher the mechanism as most of it appears to be a welded construction and do not want to do that, because at times I would revert it back to an original front facing passenger seat.
