I had a play with the diag port and all I get is a solid light that remains on as long as the ignition is on. No flashing or anything. It's wired up correctly as per the guides. 2001 2.0 petrol, not OBD2, unfortunately (I miss my Torque app already).
Any ideas?

Re: 2.0 Diagnostics
It is reporting an error, with a flashing light ?
You have accounted for the socket being upside down ?

Yes, I followed the upside-down instructions. It's definitely wired correctly, the light just refuses to go out.
There's no flashing or faults, runs perfectly. Just curiosity after doing loads to it to see if it's stored anything.

If a fault clears the code is removed, if its not flashing to warn you of an error, then there are no errors to tell you about.

Re: 2.0 Diagnostics
OK, thanks. The instructions I have suggest that the light should come on for a second and go off if there are no codes (and no flashing thereafter).
Re: 2.0 Diagnostics
There seem to be variations over the years, later versions use a 4-digit code and even later ones have an OBDII socket as well. There doesn't seem to be a single definitive write-up covering them all but just information gathered by people for there own version of vehicle. The various code lists seem to expand and shrink as well!
