Mazda Recall

Post by Alkers » Fri Jul 20, 2018 9:44 am

Just came across this on the web:
https://en.responsejp.com/cars-automoti ... efect.html

Has anyone tried getting this done at a Mazda dealership?

Good info. I see the article was dated 2016. I've not had my Bongo long - did anyone get a DVLA recall notice?

How does one contact Mazda about this, or do we have to wait for a letter? Looks like the page has been translated from Japanese. Might have to go a long way ........

Given the Bongo was never officially imported, would it be for the independent retailers to inform us? There is nothing listed on DVSA site regarding a recall indeed they don't even cover the 'Friendee' as a recognised Mazda model, a project for someone to inform DVSA? Personally given it may be 2+ years since this recall was issued and we have heard nothing/nothing is listed, I would be very suprised if Mazda UK/EU (at the moment) would be inclined to do anything. We have heard of no such problems' on here regarding this fault and actual fires?

I won't be rolling up at the local Mazda dealer in my 02 plate van after a new switch from them as I fear a somewhat bemused reception awaits :?

Hear you go,

We are able to search on our records for any outstanding recalls on your Mazda Bongo. Please provide the VIN number and I can send it to our homologation team to investigate.

If there is any additional information feel free to call us on 03457 48 48 48. We are here between 9.00am to 6.00PM Monday to Friday.

Yours Sincerely

KM

In 2016 we owned a Mazda 323f (1998) which has the same window switch and received no recall notice for it - we did have a recall for the ignition switch in 2017.
