as expected the ticking noise on start up doesnt happen anymore after oil change. i used api sn 10w40 elf expensive stuff that i got for free at work. took just over 4lts with filter.
rocker gasket done too but annoyingly i will have to change oil again as sump has a leak round the join so will be resealing that at same time as autobox oil and gasket change which has the same issue. not serious but better sorted than not for sure.
