Dipstick!

Post by WestyK » Sat Mar 31, 2018 10:40 am

No I am not trying to insult anyone

Bought a new dipstick for my 95 diesel Bongo but the one I got has the markings for L and F in slightly different places. F is a bit further up but the L is almost the same may be slightly lower.
Its a genuine Mazda item and from a trusted source so can only assume there have been some changes over the years.

The question is. Were these just revised levels or were the changes to the dipstick tube or sump that needed the different dipstick.

Am I sake to use it! :?

Thanks

Check the part number on the packaging , it should be WL0110450 for every wltd engine.

The diesel dipstick is the same for all diesel models, but the V6 has a different dipstick (JE4810450) and so does the 2 litre (FEJK10450A).

Thanks All

The part number on the packaging is correct it would seem WL01-10-450
So must be ok.

Going to check again in case I am mistaken but am sure the one I have fitted is slightly different. That said I cant imaging a few mm extra on the level would make a massive difference. If it were lower then I would be more concerned.

Will take another look.

Cheers all
