Is there an easy way to disable the Side Door Motor?

Or a more permanent fix.

It has slowly got progressively worse over the time we've had the Bongo. I've cleaned the contacts (that used to work for a few weeks), I've tried spacing the connector to make it apply more pressure - didn't really help.

Basically each time I shut the door at the moment, it takes about 3 goes to close the door, you can hear the motor go through its little sequence, then start again.

When I drive, each time I hit a bump you can here the door motor go again, sometimes just once sometimes a few times.

Any ideas? It is starting to drive me crazy!

Have you tried removing the fuse but...(Do not remove when door is in the open position) .

I haven't as I wasn't sure what the effect would be.

Does the door still function as it should? Or would it stick out when closed? As the motor seems to pull it in.

What happens if you pull the fuse with it open?

Unfortunately, not really.

My central locking works fine, it is just the annoying motorised 'closer' part of the sliding door that is malfunctioning. It starts to 'pull' the door in then gives up and the door goes out a bit, then it tries again, and repeats until it goes in far enough.

Have you taken the interior panel off to see if there is any adjustment?
Sounds like it is not fully completing its cycle or maybe a poor earth or connection at the motor end of things.
Anyone had these apart?
