Time to go
It's sad but we are now about to replace our bongo with a VW camper. We have had her for a long time lots of trips lots of memories, especially with our old now gone dog Sophie. The best vehicle I have ever had, used as main vehicle just last week drove to Devon and back with no problems. Very versatile used to carry heavy loads, nice to drive can't fault her. We have had bongo for many years now, thanks to all who have replied to posts and help etc.
Re: Time to go
We all move on sometime, for many reasons.
Good luck for the future, and don't forget you will still get a good welcome on here, and with your new VW at any Meets you fancy coming to.

You'll be missed as one of the BF stalwarts. Very best wishes for the next adventure and keep in touch.

Re: Time to go
Bongo gone now a couple of month ago. A friend bought and has steam cleaned engine, had professional valet inside. What do we miss?
4wd bongo with winter tyres fantastic, go anywhere . Our new VW 2wd with winter tyres not good in hilly areas.
Electrics way advanced for a vehicle of that age. Blinds electric., mirrors electric, side door easy closing, roof electric.
None of this on new VW.
VW better in a lot of areas but! Bongos are a fantastic vehicle, just a shame they are not still made.
Would I recommend a bongo to anyone! Yes best vehicle I have had in 40 years of driving.

Interesting to hear comparisons from someone who has owned both, thanks.

Re: Time to go
Well it turns out we sold the wrong vehicle. We had bongo and a seat Córdoba,we bought VW in place of bongo and sold bongo. Last Friday wishbone, Spring and driveshaft all broke in a catastrophic failure due to corrosion think wife was lucky it failed where it did. £600 repair bill now.
Should have sold car and kept bongo

Oh crap I suppose, being fair, that Bongos aren't immune to wishbone corrosion and failure either but still, thats not good.
