Can anyone tell me how long I should allow the basecoat to cure before applying the clearcoat? Basecoat is U-pol in a rattle can.

Basecoat cure times
Have begun to tackle my (c)rusty undercarriage. Have taken the driver's side sill back to bare metal in the rusty bits, primed and applied stone chip. Have base- and clearcoats ready to go on, but have never used 2 stage systems before. Have painted Triumphs and Wolseleys previously which use solids - good old British Leyland Vehicle Colours

In this warm weather as soon as it's matt. Don't leave it more than 6 hours before lacquering

Thanks for that. I'm making the most of the weather this weekend.kloonsy wrote: Sat Oct 14, 2017 8:48 pm In this warm weather as soon as it's matt. Don't leave it more than 6 hours before lacquering
Didn't do the job during the summer as I should have done when I first got the van as I was too busy trekking off everywhere in it having fun!!
