Hi everyone,

I've got a 95 2.5 4wd Bongo that's been welded, steering racked for the MOT only to end up 2 weeks later with a cracked head!! Now I've had that done, but the mechanic legged it and didn't do the valve gaps properly. I've since had that sorted and we got it running smoothly for a bit, but then it cuts out??
Seemingly caused by fuel not making it to the pots?

The new mechanic reckons it's the diesel pump, which was fine before and to replace it would cost fassans (!) I guess it could be the filter but it was all working fine before the work was started. I haven't checked the filter yet, but also can't see it being that. Maybe there's a knocked out fuse or relay?

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this gratefully received.

You need to remove 24-2942 in this diagram.
I use a cotton bud to ease the filter out of the "hole" in the pump. Not all bongos seem to have a banjo filter.

There is an electric fuel cut off valve on top of the pump. Worth checking that it is operating properly - perhaps some wiring or connector has suffered during the work done on the engine. Its default position without power is closed.
