2002 bongo sidelights

I think I'm just getting too old. I can't believe I'm asking this but how do you change the W5W sidelight bulb on the above?
I have taken the electrical connector off and the bulb is still sitting within the headlamp. Is this normal? It seems to be sitting within another black plastic holder.
And I've seen a post somewhere suggesting it's easier to remove the whole headlamp. Is this so?

The bulb holder normally twists to come out of the rear of the lens/reflector.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. That's a relief. I thought the bulbs may be stuck in the headlamp unit. I had visions of them rattling around inside the unit.
