I have a ford freda/mazda bongo which currently needs the new wheel arches we have bought welded and a new radiator. It runs lovely and we have been quoted £700 for the work it needs. It passed the MOT last year and the only advisories were that it had "sligh" rusting on back wheel arches and that I didn't put the back split seats down.
Last week before the radiator went I booked a flight to Australia and now unfortunately I just cannot afford or have the time to do the work before I leave as well as sell it.
It was originally bought as a little project but now it looks as though I am going to have to scrap it.
Since everything else on the car is working well I was debating about taking off what I can and selling it.
My question really is, is this possible with very little mechanical knowledge?
Or would be be better of just scrapping it? Just seems such a shame to waste a perfectly decent car, especially since the engine is good and all electricals work including leisure battery, cd/dvdplayer, speakers.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
A very confused

Re: Breaking Freda/bongo
Is there a garage nearby that works on Bongos? The place I bought mine from isn't an exclusive Bongo garage but because they buy and sell so many they have a couple scrap ones out the back that they use for repairs.
Somewhere like that will probably offer you better than scrap.

Good idea, I did ask at a garage near me in mid wales and they offered 300, I suppose it is better than scrap.
Just seems such a waste. Especially with the electric roof and good engine.
I will try a couple more garages.
Thanks

Try Ian Taylor and Bongo Spares, they will do what's best for it.

Thanks for the help

Obviously I can't promise what they will or won't do, but worth a call to both of them.
