Of course us experts (motivated as we are by driving 2 ton aerodynamic bricks) know all this but....

Always good to refresh before touring season !

I had also read an oil change can improve things (But we are all on top of that aren't we ?)And for petrol drivers and I am not sure about this they say as petrol is delivered by volume that filling up when it is the coolest part of the day gets your more "gas". However I am going to guess a 3M deep tank buried 5M deep into the ground does not have much of a temperature variation over 24 hours. (especially in winter) It may give a few extra meters range in the summer ? Hard one to test, that.

In the interests of weight reduction and therefore better fuel economy I try and leave the wife at home.
I dont have any statistical data to support this theory but the van seems to drive better and its quieter too.

I generate a lot of hot air from various sources and have found that feeding that into the EGR system can improve performance as well as purging crud from the system. Cab interior seems to run quieter also

Really for optimum efficiency/benefit that should be run through the inter-cooler shouldn't it?
