New battery
Looks as though a new starter battery is imminent. Any recommendations? - looking for cheap and reliable.
Thanks

Re: New battery
I've bought a couple from these guys:

Certainly been ok so far, and Europarts will deliver, got one from them for my Mum's car.
Often a discount code to be found if you prod about.

Re: New battery
I don't think its meaty enough at 70ah, I'd be looking at 90ah minimum, alhough the small one might be ok in a 2ltr petrol.

Re: New battery
I like to have as many amphrs as poss on board. That one's 70Ah (which should be fine) but mines 95Ah and think it was no more expensive. One candidate that used to be recommended and was well priced was a Bosch so have a search for that on here.janie wrote:http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Mazda ... 881&000020
Looking at this one - any opinions?

This one's more Ah - there's a sale on at the minute so 30% off which makes it just about manageable. The Bosch is £170......is it worth the difference?

Re: New battery
Unless prices have risen dramatically you shouldn't need to pay anything like those prices. Have a google for best price 90ah batteries - it doesn't have to be a boschjanie wrote:http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Mazda ... 495&000020

I buy mine delivered from these guys and am looking at £81 delivered for 90ah. Check dimension fit battery tray and that terminals are the right way round for a bongo by looking at your existing battery

And some (chinese?) brands are giving good value. Googling suggests this has a 4 year warranty though 720crank amps is slightly less than the 800cca some seem to have. But £64 vould be worth a punt

Re: New battery
Yep, that looks pretty good.

Re: New battery
Avoid the ECP Lion brand batteries like the plague, they are very cheap for a reason. Very poor quaility & they have a very high failure rate. Go with a well known brand like Yuasa or Bosch. I use an 096 battery with 650 cca (EN). Fits no problem.

Re: New battery
Update:
Ordered the battery found by Rita - £83.....arrived the next day. Haven't had a chance to fit it yet, but great service for a very fair price.

Make sure you have your radio code (if needed) then disconnect the earth/nagative terminal first and reconnect it last.
That way if the spanner touches the body you won't get a short. Unless you also have a LB fitted.
And don't forget the local scrappie will give you a couple of quid for the old one. Take your driving licence as they have to pay by cheque.
