Only neg feed back I can see is for a perished rear main oil seal, seems unlikely that he would sell a perished one. Thinking on that I have never seen a "perished" oil seal!
Umbongo and I have had a good look over today, with him sacrificing his extremities to the cold. He reckons it's a newly machined head, only recon aspect being the cam/valves etc. - does that make more sense in the context?
We weren't able to get as far as bolting it down because of (d):
a) missing stud from earlier sheer-off on the turbo manifold (also need to remove a few more from old head)
b) sensor (coolant?) snap off, not sure what to re-order yet
c) dowel on the cam missing/won't come off old head easily
d) o-ring on oil feed on block has perished -> no replacement to hand
Will also need torque settings for glow plugs, if available. A new oil filter and vac hoses are also to go on order (found both for £5 on ebay).
If anyone can advise on the coolant sensor before I go off hunting, the dowel on the cam or any o-ring on block specifics, I'm all ears.
So will get that lot in, hopefully on order tomorrow, and then get back to fixing down.
