Took delivery of a gleaming Bongo 8 days ago from JAL Imports with a mushroom pop up roof. We are about to embark on a 4 day trip to Wells, Sumerset and surrounds on Thursday 29th December. Unfortunately we cannot raise the roof It appears to be locked in position despite efforts with the suppied metal pole. What am I failing to do. Am resisting getting the crow bar out. Phil from JAL is on holiday. Help!
Thanks in anticipation of a replys from wiser heads than mine

Re: Raising the roof!
If it's the same as mine, you should find two key locks on the top edge of the roof on the side you push up. One towards the front above passenger door and one towards the rear.
It might help at first to use a stool to locate and get a good view of mechanism. Unlock both using the key, then you need to flip up the plastic latch to release the lock on them. Push down slightly on the black plastic side near side of lock, which will then create enough space to hinge open the other side (up and away from you).
When you've unlocked and unlatched both sides then push up .... it's heavier than you might expect!!!
(When you put it down, you need to flip the latches down and then lock)
Hope this makes sense!!

Re: Raising the roof!
Many thanks for you replys. Rita for the link to a later model of the roof and Chrisbeaky being spot on with the same roof desin as mine. Used step ladder to figure it out and sucessfully raise roof! (Yes, it is heavy.) Just in time for visit to Wells, Cheddar, Weston-Super-Mare starting on Thursday.
Now can get down to packing and deciding what not to take.

You need a trailer.

Re: Raising the roof!
Here's a tip for when lowering the roof...
Remove the centre wooden board before lowering and lost in afterwards. Otherwise, you get a big airlock and it's harder to get the tent fabric neatly back in. I only discovered the difference this makes by accident!
Enjoy your trip!
