ABS Warning Light and Diagnostics

Post by Ian » Tue Oct 18, 2016 2:53 pm

Pat from Co. Westmeath, Ireland has been in touch. He's got a flashing ABS warning light, an imminent MOT, and he has read the relevant fact sheet about how to get the fault code by using the diagnostic box. The problem seems to be that his diagnostic box itself is faulty and doesn't have the full set of connectors so he can't get a reading.

Is it possible to remove and test the ABS sensors one by one and establish which one is at fault?

I never had any luck trying to use the diagnostic plug so I checked the four wheel sensors with a muli meter ..

The leads from the sensors can be uplugged to test .. the reading should be around 1600 / 1640 Ohms ..

Search .. for old ABS posts like ...
