Banjo is clear and the fuel filter was done in January, so that should be ok.
Tempted to look at the modifications, but not yet!

Afraid that doesn't mean a lot, it depends on the state of the fuel tank etc etc etc , there is (usually ) a filter in the tank also.

I kind of agree with you Rita, but i would imagine that if it were a case of clogged filter, it would more likely cause an issue when running at speed? That has been the case on both bikes and classic cars when the filters have been neglected. Enough fuel at idle and slow running but not enough qhen you're drawing more.
Neither of those were fuel injected though, so i'm happy to be wrong if the principle is that different.

The counter argument could be (I don't know for certain) that at higher revs the pump, being mechanical, has more suck to overcome the resistance of a clogged filter.

Just don't know if/when some dirty fuel was picked up so it is a cheap and easy thing to eliminate.

Wait for a techie like Northern Bongolow to advise but basically i think it is just a case of loosening a slotted screw and moving it a bit, re-tightening tbe screw and seeing how that affects gear changes. BUT, most likely it won't produce any useful improvement so you will want to be able to put it back to its original position, so make sure you mark that accurately before making any changes. Also, i think that if/when TPS is the cause of (for example) unsatisfactory autobox gear changing, it is more likely because of malfunction of the electrics. After all, what are the odds of it working loose if its not done it in 20 years.
