I was assuming they were normal colour in daylight and B&W at night when using IR.

I see there's no reviews but that's always a problem with a new item, no great rush so holding fire just now.

Unless you are going to be filming something in complete darkness (which I'm assuming you will need at least enough light to be walking around!), a low light camera is a much better bet than infra-red. I won't bore you all to tears but many many reasons means it would be better just to steer clear and a better quality low light camera be used.

Yes they will show colour during normal lighting, but you will find that the colour rendition will be odd!
All the camera sensors are sensitive to IR as initially built, for normal work the IR is then filtered out leaving only the normal human optical range and normal colour rendition, by leaving out the filter (cheaper) you can then claim IR as a feature, BUT the red end of the spectrum then becomes enhanced and unless extra expensive colour processing is then added (very expensive) the colour results have odd effects added in!

Very little info on that one, if you go to the web site for the company, there is a manual there http://www.veho-muvi.com/muvi-hd/ Manual http://1ad006cbb3069011d73a-21b4fc1f8f3 ... Manual.pdf Not sure its weather proof seems to have a lot of exposed sockets on the side as well. But they do sell a waterproof case at a price .... Oh 4GB SD card won't give you many minutes of recording 20minutes typically so you will need a 64GB card with any camera if you don't want to have to think about recording time.
