4W ABS light intermittant

Post by neilrenault » Wed Oct 12, 2016 4:22 pm

Hi

Has anyone ever had the 4W ABS light come lit upon engine starting? I normally resolve this by starting the engine. Run for 5 seconds, turn off and then turn the key until the light goes unlit and start the engine. However recently its been coming on again afterwards. When the bongo has been 'on a run', I can always resolve it by switching off and then back on.

Don't know whether this is related to the complete speedometer dying occasionally, including mileage counter. Again, a reset always resolves this. I prefer to know how fast I am going rather than not clocking up the odd extra mile ;-)

Any ideas?
Thanks

has the speedo got a little converter box from kmh to miles per hour behind the clock cluster or behind the dash nearby, sounds like a faulty one, these have been known to play tricks with the dashboard when if they fail in a certain way.

just also check the alternator is performing as it should do, this also can make the lecky stuff go wacky when they start to fail.
