Blanking rear heater hoses- definitive guide?

Hi, and hello - newly registered and newly Bongo'd (well.. Freda'd) members here. Howdy

We picked up our Freda today, and nearing the end of the long drive home we treated her to some new tyres.
While that was being done, sharp-eyed wife noticed that Freda had decided to give us a playful warning - small amount of coolant leaking out of a 'T-joint' along the Heater pipes, halfway rear on drivers side.


I see on the Bongoland parts shop there are blanking kits especially to address this.
But also reading a few posts on the subject, I note that some folks have made a loopback bypass rather than blanking.

I've also looked at the Lushprojects diagrams. Great resource , but not sure where to start...
All I know is that I want to do it - absolutely.

My query is - Blank them - or loopback?
And can anybody kindly find a way to illustrate exactly which pipes , and where to apply the blank (or loopback)?

That T piece is a common fault
Most only blank of the rear heater if it's the heater it self leaking

I repaired my t with 15mm copper plumbing fittings and jubilee clips
Get a 15mm tee
Solder in 3 bits of copper pipe to the tee
Cut the rusty tee out with a hack saw
Push the copper pipe into the 2 rubber hoses
And use another peace of rubber hose onto the cut metal pipe and onto the final leg of your new tee
Tighten up with jubilee clips
Job done

But don't forget with a bongo cooling system you have to bleed it

I'm still pretty keen to reduce the number of joints and hoses that the coolant travels through to a minimum.

If anybody has carried out the loopback / blanking of (all) the rear heater pipes, I'd be really grateful for an initial shove in the right direction .

You can get replacement full length metal pipes with the tee section on
Bit of a pig to change I think

Best to do a search and put and inbetween each word apparantly
