Poly bushed rear drop links

Post by callum » Thu Sep 08, 2016 9:01 am

Hi folks,
Has anybody fitted rear drop link poly bushes? I was just about to buy new rear drops and saw these on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252501263183

With classiccars, i always replaced with poly, just not thought about it on the van.

Thoughts?

I've used them on me landrover
Didn't notice any difference
So I stick with the normals now
Heard they wear out quicker
Gas safe heating engineer / plumber if you need any advice just shout.

Ah ok, i always found the poly to be much better than the rubber supplied for classic cars. Same might not be said for a Bongo though. Poly is same cost as budget normal drops, which i had heard don't last long at all.
Just trying to spend my cash wisely as i have a couple of hundred spare pounds at the mo, which i need to invest into my vehicles.

the gen mazda ones last for years, its the aftermarket ones that dont, i would put my money into gen mazda ones. the aftermarket ones can also pull apart on the bottom ring around the bush,it literally pulls the welded ring apart especially if the rear bump stops are missing

Hi
Absolutely ...Genuine Mazda only....but the Poly bushes might be a good idea if you replace the rubber in a new droplink...I'd sure like to find the rollbar bushes in polyurethane...they are far superior to normal, being harder and longer lasting. Properly fitted to a suspension system that isn't completely clapped out elsewhere will always show an improvement ....but it will show a harder ride...It's no point judging the bushes as useless if, as I stressed, the rest of the suspension is worn out.
Cheers

Well, assuming mine are original drops, the bushes just get replaced in them. So i am quite keen. How much are gen Mazda ones?

I did see these too Helen from the same seller,

Good price for the Poly bushes, I would imagine that the genuine Mazda or ADM links would cost approx. £50/60 .Have used Poly bushes on a various vehicles with no problems.

Good Luck.
