private light goods to campervan
So picked my van yesterday yay. I got a good insurance quote and they asked if it was classed as a campervan on the v5. I said yes as I assumed it was. It has a full side conversion but in checking the v5 it says private light goods. I can meet all the requirements except receipts for the conversion. So do i wait for the v5 to come through and send off all the info or do I have to fess up to the insurance people first whilst I wait for it to be changed. Is it as easy as sending off a few pics and presumably paying a fee?

Private Light Goods - PLG - Is the taxation class
Body type is where its either MPV or Motor Caravan
Even when it is converted and the registration is updated it will still be PLG for the Taxation class.

I'm just looking at reclassifying my Bongo with the DVLA. The guidance is here
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... orhome.pdf
and there is a link in this PDF which takes you to a template covering letter you can send in with your photos. There is no charge apparently. Tell the insurers - they usually give you 3 months to reclassify (or I'm pretty sure that's what I was told by Lifesure).
