Lights, Sockets, EHU

Hi,
I'm a new Bongo owner and just getting to grips with it
I have a newbie question.
I've hooked up the EHU cable to test sockets, lights, fridge, etc.
The fridge sprung in to life, but the socket and lights didn't work.
I've checked all the fuses, and they all look good.
Any ideas?
State:
Ignition off
Hookup cable connected

Any help appreciated

Don't think it will be fuses
But the same type of fuse board as n houses
The trip switch ones
You should be looking for
Follow the cables from the 240 v sockets

Cool thanks for the advice.
I reset the fuse board trip switches, still nada on the sockets or lights.
Will start tracing the wires this weekend.
Just another quick one. Will the leisure battery charge whilst the EHU cable is connected.

It should do, but you may have to set a 'Selector' switch.

Depends what set up you have, but possibly marked something like 'Car/Caravan/Mains'.

That depends if you have a battery charger built in to your 240v electrics
You said fridge started running if it was running on 12 v then yes you have
But if fridge was on 240 then don't know
But a multi meter on your battery when plugged into ehu if it goes up to over 13v yes you have
Start checking at the trip switch end if you found that for the sockets
Do mind it's 240 v if u take the cover off trip box and one big bar is still live with mains switch on board in off position

Several of the rear conversions I was asked to look at during the Bash had EHU but it only fed the two power sockets, nothing else was provided, no charger, lights or anything extra at all.

Thanks, we'll try and sort out a Bongo Relay.

When I bought it I was told that the sockets only worked on hook up.
However I will test the leisure battery voltage whilst hooked up and not.
How easy is it to get the kitchen unit out to look at the wiring.
Again sorry for the newbie questions

Re this question, again, it depends on what set up you have.

Is it converted by one of the known companies, DIY fit, one off by a lesser known convertor?

Can you post some pics? (I've never mastered this so don't worry. )

What you were told is correct, the 13 amp sockets will only work when you are on hook up, but what else works from the mains depends how it is set up.

We're 'test running' the beast on sat so will take tools and DVM with me.

The plug sockets will only work on hook up
If you have other 240 going to the fridge
I would imagine it is the trip switch for the sockets is faulty
If it was the cables or sockets the trip would be tripping
Check inside trip switch board for 240
Don't use your tongue
240v tester RECOMENDED and caution

Right that is just the consumer unit, which allows isolation and RCD protection and suggests that the system might be a DIY job, unless you also have a ZIG unit elsewhere ? If its just that unit then its unlikely that you have a charger and the EHU just powers the sockets alone.

I've had a look this morning and it looks like the LB doesn't charge from the EHU. It's split charging when the engine is running, and there is also a solar panal. So you're correct it looks like the EHU is purely for the sockets (and possibly ceiling spot lights). I'm going to open the consumer unit up at some point to investigate further.
