Engine noise on start up

Hi

I recently had my water pump / cam belt/alternator changed on my 2.5 td diesel ... I took it on a good run 500 miles ran like a dream no water loss nothing , when I went to start it yesterday there seem knocking sound coming from the front off the engine this noise disappears after 2/3 minutes and the van runs lovely any ideas what it could be ?

try this sometimes when new tight belts are fitted it can show up.

Worth checking the auxiliary drive belt tension too. Jockey wheel wear can present as a knocking sound rather like a big end.
