Cylinder Head Bolts on V6

Post by Ian » Sun Jul 17, 2016 10:00 pm

Does anyone know if the head bolts on a V6 are re-usable? Or are they a single use "stretch" type?

I always believed that all cylinder heads bolts were of the stretch type, you need to measure the bolt length and compare with the original length of that particular bolt.

I think this particular bolt is, but you should be able to check with your supplier, they should also be able to give you the tolerance.

Length 108

Thread Pitch 1.5

Good Luck.

The manual (page 49) specifies that the bolt length from under the head to the end must be 107.7-108.3mm replace if outside these limits. So that appears to imply that they can be reused if not stretched beyond those limits ?
