speedo dial

Post by bonetti » Mon Jun 06, 2016 5:19 pm

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to extract the binnacle holding the speedo dial, temp dial?

I have just acquired a white speedo dial to match the other dials (the converter changed it for a black dial). I have average skills and no specialist tools. Do I need to disconnect the battery or take any other precautions?

Thank you in advance. :) :) :)

As I recall, two screws to release the binnacle (the curvy bit with the switches) and then 4 screws to remove the instrument panel. You may have to disconnect any switches you have in the 3 locations either side and drop the steering wheel to its lowest adjustment. No need to disconnect battery but it's best not to have key in the ignition when doing it. There will be a couple of large connectors to disconnect from the PCB on the rear (seen below) and then you're out. With practice, it's a 5 minute job.
